The Hockley County VOICES Coalition Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway has been set for Saturday, August 2, at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Capitol Elementary, 401 Ellis Street.
The backpacks will be distributed in the drive through in the front of the school. Information will be gathered from each student who must be in the vehicle to receive a backpack.
The Hockley County Credit Union will partner with VOICES to distribute shoes on a first come, first served basis at the giveaway event. Other organizations who would like to provide school supplies, shoes or financial contributions should contact Donna Pugh at 806-894-9628, ext. 1218.
