Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 7.4% more than in June 2025.
These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
In Hockley County, Levelland saw a -11.03% decrease from 2025 in sales tax allocations, receiving $382,844. Opdyke West decreased by -10.42, receiving $452; and Sundown also had a -18.86 decrease, receiving $34,664.
Anton increased by 15.91%, receiving $9,658; Ropesville increased 5.66%, receiving $15,997; and Smyer increased, 3.00%, receiving $6,531.
In Cochran County, Moron saw a 4.17% increase over last year, receiving $15,801; and Whiteface was up by 7.92%, receiving $2,775.
Statewide, cities received $782.7 million in sales tax allocations, up 6.6% from 2025; counties, $80 million, up 8.1%; transit systems, $262.3 million, up 8.1%; and special purpose districts, $132.4 million, up 7.4%.
