Sundown city council meeting set for October 14

The Sundown City Council will hold their regular meeting at city hall on Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Agenda items to be considered or acted upon include Resolution #187 nominating members to the Hockley County Appraisal District board, a proclamation for National Friends of Libraries Week, a construction contract for the TDA waterline improvements project, property located in the Collins Addition, an ordinance making the Levelland & Hockley County News-Press the official newspaper and a review of quarterly financials and investments.

Additionally, the council is expected to hear reports on public works, library update, fire department update, city hall update and the city administrator’s report on current projects.

An executive session is scheduled to review and evaluate City Administrator Billy Hernandez’s job performance and contract.

According to the agenda, the November city council meeting is scheduled to be moved to Nov. 18, and the SPAG open house is set to be held on Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m.
