Ropes ISD announces afternoon pick-up change

The Ropes Independent School District is notifying parents and guardians of an afternoon pick-up adjustment for Pre-K and Kindergarten students beginning Monday, Aug. 25.

The changes are being made to accommodate an on-going roofing project at Ropes ISD.

Students will be released at the south gate of the playground next to the Ag Barn, located along the intersection of Long Avenue and S. Plains Street.

Ropesville residents should expect slower traffic along S. Plains Street during dismissal.

In the event of inclement weather, students will be held inside the Ag Barn until they can be safely escorted to their vehicles.

The alley east of the school will remain closed to parent or guardian vehicles and will not be open to through traffic. Parents and guardians are asked to not block homeowner driveways during pick-up. Traffic control and security staff will be on-site to assist with dismissal.

Additionally, the adhesive used in the roofing process may produce a strong odor. The district noted that while the odor may be unpleasant, it is harmless.

Also, the roofing company and the project manager will provide an official Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) on file for reference.
