Lobos stumble against Owls at Littlefield tourney

The Levelland Lobos took on the Hale Center Owls for the teams first game of the Littlefield Tournament that is going on Wednesday through Friday. The first quarter of the game was high scoring as both teams couldn’t stop one another defensively. The score at the end of the first was Hale Center winning 18-17.

The second quarter was more Levelland as they were able to outscore the Owls 16-to-7 and take the lead going into the halftime break with the score 33- 25.

Going into the third quarter of the game Hale Center came alive and was able to outscore the Lobos 17-to-15 and cutting Levelland’s lead 48-42.

For the fourth quarter Levelland wasn’t able to hold off the Owls in the end as Hale Center was able to come back and take the lead from Levelland for the first game of the tournament. The leading scorer for the Lobos was Jaden Castillo as he had 24 points.

Eryk Jones was able to rack up 16, Sean Landrum added another 15, Jose Muro had four and Graham Gibbs finished with three in the contest.

Levelland shot the ball well as they were a sound 43% from the field and 88% on the charity stripe.

Levelland falls to 7-11 on the season with the loss and will go up against the Roosevelt Eagles early in the Thursday morning.
