The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will be holding two meetings Monday, July 29, with a regular meeting beginning at 9 a.m. and a special meeting consisting of a budget workshop following right after.
Agenda items for the regular meeting is as follows: Approve the minutes for both regular meetings held on July 8 and a regular meeting on July 17; Approve all monthly bills and claims submitted to the Court dated through July 29; Consider and take necessary action authorizing the Levelland City Manager to submit a letter to TxDOT Aviation for an airport layout plan utilizing funds from the airport royalties fund; Consider and take necessary action on a crack seal project at the Levelland Municipal Airport; Submission of the appraisal roll for the taxing unit showing the total appraised, assessed, and taxable values of all property and the total taxable value of new property to the Court by Debra Bramlett, Tax Assessor; Certification of anticipated collection rate for 2024 to the Court by Debra Bramlett, Tax Assessor; Consider and take necessary action to approve the Hockley County Treasurer’s 2024 2nd Quarter Financial Report.
Consider and take necessary action to approve a donation to the Hockley County Memorial Library from Occidental Petroleum in the amount of $1,000; Consider and take necessary action to approve the request of Hockley County Attorney, Anna Hord to use SB22 money to supplement the salary of the Assistant County Attorney; Consider and take necessary action to approve the Local Workforce Development Board Appointment of Albert Garcia; Consider and take necessary action to approve the Intergovernmental Lease Agreement Extension Amendment for Levelland DFPS (Department of Family and Protective Services) between Hockley County and State of Texas acting by and through the Health and Human Services; Discussion and potential action to approve line item transfers to move bailiff position from a part-time position to a fulltime position; Discussion and potential action to approve the Amended Interlocal Agreement for the Establishment of the High Plains Public Defender’s Office.
Discussion and potential action to approve extending the Disaster Declaration Renewal dated June 24, 2024 until August 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m; Consider and take necessary action to approve the interlocal agreement between Lubbock County and Hockley County for expenses incurred for the trial of cause number 21-09-10115, styled the State of Texas vs. Omar Soto Chavira pending in the 286th Judicial District Court of Hockley County, Texas; Consider and take necessary action to approve no changes to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Imposition of Optional Fees for 2025; Consider and take necessary action concerning the application submitted by the Church on the Rock requesting permission to use the courthouse lawn on July 31; Consider and take necessary action concerning the application submitted by the Wallace Theater requesting permission to use the courthouse lawn on October 5; Consider and take necessary action to advertise for bids for a 2024 or newer model pickup for use by Juvenile Probation; and Consider and take necessary action to approve the monthly reports due as per 114.044 Local Government Code as submitted by the Hockley County District Clerk, Hockley County Clerk, Hockley County Auditor and Justice of the Peace Precincts 1, 2, 4 and 5.
A second regular meeting will follow with a budget workshop being the only item.
