The Smyer Girls’ Varsity Track Team were named area champions and the Smyer Boys’ Varsity Track Team placed eighth in the UIL District 5 and 6 Area Track and Field Championships in Wink last week.Smyer Girls VarsityThe team placed first with 142 points.

The Levelland Boys’ Track Team placed ninth while the Girls’ Track Team placed 11th in the UIL 4A Area 5-6 Track Meet in Abilene.Levelland Men’s VarsityThe team placed ninth with a total of 27 points.In the 800 Meter, Ryan Jeanneret placed second with a time of 2:00.97.

The Whitharral Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Track Teams were each crowned district champions in the UIL 1A - District 5 Track Meet at Wellman-Union High School, April 2.Whitharral Boys’ VarsityWhitharral placed first with 222 points.

Lobos battle against Liberty Patriots, fall in extra innings

Lobo baseball hosted the Liberty Patriots in a district matchup Tuesday that went nine innings resulting in a Lobo loss, 11-10.The Patriots secured an early lead in the top of the second inning scoring seven runs.

The Levelland Loboettes added another district win after hosting and run ruling the Liberty Lady Patriots Tuesday, 16-1.The Loboettes would wrap up the game in three innings. The Levelland bats would start the scoring party in the bottom of the first with 15 runs.
