State unemployment rate at 4.4%

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Texas for June was reported to be 4.4%, according to the official U-3 unemployment rate.Nationally, Texas ranked 31st among all 50 states and the District of Columbia in unemployment, according to Labor Department data.

SPC to hold Designer Bag Bingo on Aug. 29

South Plains College will be having an unforgettable ladies' night out during the institution’s first Designer Bag Bingo on Aug. 29.Patrons are invited to the Wallace Theater in Levelland for a chance to win designer handbags during an evening of bingo and raise money for SPC student scholarships.
