Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to bolster security efforts surrounding places of worship in the wake of the escalation of violent attacks against people and places of faith across the nation.“Places of worship are sacred,” said Abbott.

The Texas Workforce Commission reported that the not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Texas for August registered at 4.7 percent.Texas had 14,347,700 total nonfarm jobs after adding 17,600 positions over the month in August.

BBQ Pitmasters-- The Lobo Pitmasters BBQ Team and their advisor, Khris Oaks, had an outstanding performance at the Area BBQ Cook Off place 3rd in dessert, 9th in beans, 9th in chicken, 3rd in ribs and 9th in brisket.
