Levelland City Council approves tax rate ceiling

During their Monday meeting, the Levelland City Council set a tax rate ceiling of .575000 for the FY26 Annual Budget.City Manager James Fisher explained that one of the first steps in setting the tax rate for the next budget year is for the Council to establish a ceiling tax rate.

Hockley County emergency notification signups continue

Local sales tax alloctions issued

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will distribute $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for August, which is a 5.2% increase from August 2024.These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly.Cities received $805 million in allocations for a 4.

Levelland Fire Department encourages inspections

The Levelland Fire Department (LFD) continues to emphasize compliance to fire codes. In order to ensure compliance and safety, the LFD conducts yearly inspections of businesses, including apartments, nursing homes, hotels and schools, to check for and eliminate fire hazards.
