2025 TEA ratings released

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today released the 2025 A-F Accountability Ratings for public school systems and campuses across the state.

Business owners report improving conditions in July

AUSTIN (August 12, 2025) – The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index rose 1.7 points in July to 100.3, slightly above the 52-year average of 98. Contributing most to the rise in the Optimism Index were respondents reporting better business conditions and reporting that it is a good time to expand.

Texas identifies the 119 people killed in Kerr County floods

More than a month after catastrophic floods in the Texas Hill Country swept away local residents, out-of-towners and summer campers in Kerr County, Texas Rangers have released the names of the 119 people who lost their lives.

8/6/25 - 11:30 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTYThe LFD arrived on scene around 4200 US HWY 82, where dispatched advised them of a small fire in the median at said location. Upon arrival, units for a patch of very thick grass burning that was contained to the median.
