Five counties added to State Disaster Declaration

AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott updated his disaster declaration Thursday following recent catastrophic flooding across Texas to include Hamilton, Lampasas, Maverick, Sutton, and Uvalde counties, bringing the total to 26 counties.

Texas’ civilian labor force sets new record

AUSTIN - Texas’civilian labor force achieved another new record high of 15,850,100 after adding 10,800 people over the month and marking 60 of 62 months of growth. Over the year, Texas’ civilian labor force has added 237,800 people.

Funeral services set for Rosemary Mejia, 45

Levelland, passed from this life on July 13, 2025 in Lubbock. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Levelland. Interment followed in the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland.
