Hockley County Grand Jury returns six indictments

The 286th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that a Hockley County Grand Jury convened April 30 and returned six indictments.Roshanda Carr, 46, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 of more than one gram but less than four grams.

The Hockley County Elections Administration has provided the unnofficial May 3, General Election results.Results include elections for the City of Levelland, Levelland ISD, Ropes ISD and Anton ISD.Total ballots cast were 1,034 and total blank ballots cast were 22.

Levelland Council approves RV ordinance second reading

During Monday’s Levelland City Council meeting, the group approved the second reading of an ordinance related to the rules and regulations of the City parks system.Parks Director Dustin Reichelt presented Ordinance 1094 amending rules for the City of Levelland RV Park.

State announces monthly sales tax revenue total

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced state sales tax revenue totaled $4.24 billion in April, 7.1 percent more than in April 2024.The majority of April sales tax revenue is based on sales made in March and remitted to the agency in April.

4/30/25 – 5 P.M. – LEVELLANDThe LFD were dispatched to the 300 block of Pecan to reports of a five-year old stuck on a roof. The Fire department laddered the residence and proceeded to get the child off the roof. Once child was on the ground the fire department cleared the scene.4/30/25 – 12:45 P.M.

City of Levelland building permits issued through April

A total of 137 building permits have been issued by the City of Levelland totaling roughly $6 million while 41 permits were issued during April totaling $1 million.Four single-family permits have been issued this year for a total of $245,000. Two business building permits were issued for roughly $1.
