Anton ISD welcomed its new Assistant Superintendent, Christopher Lopez. Lopez served as Texas Tech Principal Fellow, instructional coach, teacher and coach at Lubbock ISD from August 2012 to 2026. He most recently was the principal at Cavazos Middle School.

Drought continues to grip West Texas region

Moderate to extreme drought continues to grip the Texas South Plains and Panhandle in May with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) reporting 69% of the state experiencing drought conditions, compared to 75% the previous week, 69% three months ago, and 46% one year ago.
