TRAFFIC FLIP - Traffic changes have been made to US 385 in Levelland this past week as the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) continues to make improvements to the roadway. On Monday, crews switched all traffic, between FM 300 and 13th Street, to the newly built northbound lanes. The switch will allow crews to continue building the southbound US 385 lanes. LEDC sets regular meeting

The Levelland Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors (LEDC) will be holding a regular meeting Thursday, October 10 beginning at 12 p.m. at City Hall.

TDEM directs resources to Flordia

Governor Greg Abbott announced that he has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to deploy additional Texas emergency response personnel to Florida as Hurricane Milton moves through the Gulf of Mexico, following a request from the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

CAIWA fire academy begins October 11

The 26th annual Capital Area Interagency Wildfire and Incident Management Academy (CAIWA) begins at the Camp Swift National Guard Facility in Bastrop, Texas, this week. The academy will take place October 11-23, 2024.
