Corn harvest continues

across the Lone Star State.For some farmers, like Tryne Mengers in Bee County, this year’s yield is disappointing compared to last year’s crop.“The outlook this year is pretty bleak,” Mengers said. “It’s probably one of the worst ones we’ve had in several years.

NATIONAL ANTHEM

The annual Sundown Oil Patch Day event was held a the Sundown City Park on Saturday. The singing of the national anthem was provided by Olivia Harris following the end of the parade. 

DUNKING BOOTH

The Sundown Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) participated in the Oil Patch Day event in Sundown at the City Park on Saturday. The SVFD provided a dunk tank with community having a chance to hit the target and dunk a firefighter. Pictured is April Berry who was the first one paticipating for the day.

OIL PATCH DAY

 On Saturday, the City of Sundown held thier annual Oil Patch Day event. The day started with a parade and followed with an opening ceremony, art show, car show, motorcycle show, horseshoe tournament, volleyball tournament, cornhole tournament, karaoke, kids games and at night fireworks.
