Local state sales tax allocations

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 3.3% more than in January 2023. The allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly.

DPS announces capture of Texas 10 Most Wanted offender

A Texas 10 Most Wanted offender is back in custody after their arrest on Dec. 11, 2023, in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid in this arrest. Iris Iliana Rodriguez, 34, was taken into custody by members of INTERPOL Mexico.

PUCT requests Texans conserve electricity

The Public Utility Commission of Texas echoed a call from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) asking Texans to conserve electricity use, if safe to do so, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.

HCSO Report

1/14/2024 – LEVELLAND Deputies with the HCSO assisted the Levelland Police Department with a fight in progress in the 800 block of College Avenue. The incident resulted in one arrest a report for Evading Arrest, Detention and Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport.

Levelland Fire Report

1/10/2024 – DISPATCHED 2:12 P.M. – CLEARED 2:35 P.M. – LEVELLAND The LFD received a call of an alarm going off at a residence located within the 200 block of Tanglewood Lane. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a false alarm.

Hockley County Junior Livestock Show continues through weekend

The Hockley County Junior Livestock Show and Sale began January 16 and will end January 20 at the Mallet Event Center and Arena in Levelland. On January 16, goat and lamb move-ins will began at 7 a.m. followed by ag mechanic project move-ins at 8 a.m.
