Anton FCCLA students state bound

Anton FCCLA students had a successful 2026 Region 1 Leadership Conference with several punching a ticket to compete at state.The conference was held on Feb. 26-28 at the Abilene Convention Center, featuring competitive events, spotlight projects, and a theme focused on 'Roar and Explore.

Wildfires increase across state

Fire officials are continuing to warn of high fire danger throughout the week as strong winds persist.The 8 Ball Fire burned an estimated 13,000 acres and remains 55% contained, forcing the evacuation of nearly 400 homes and threatening 1,000 more.

Miller, Sessions partner to establish AFZs nationally

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced a formal collaboration with U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, unveiling plans by Rep. Sessions to file landmark federal legislation (TX-17) to establish Agriculture Freedom Zones (AFZs) nationwide.
