Christmas travel to set record high

About 122.4 million Americans will be traveling at least 50 miles from home over the 13-day period beginning Dec. 20 to Jan. 1.This year's forecast is a 2.2% increase over 2024, surpassing last year's record of 119.7 million travelers, according to AAA.The worse days for travel are Dec.

Mallet Event Center hosts Christmas Cash Classic

The holiday season meets the spirit of competition at the 12th Annual Christmas Cash Classic Pig Show, taking place Dec. 1921 at the Mallet Event Center.The event kicks off on Dec. 19, with all swine moving in. On Dec. 20, Ring A and showmanship contests will set the stage, with judge Jarrett Davis.

Texas has banned the sale and production of labgrown meat, making it the fifth state this year and seventh overall to ban lab-grown meat after Gov. Greg Abbott signed legislation temporarily prohibiting the sale of cellcultured protein.

LHS students in Merribeth Gregory’s anatomy and physiology classes are learning continuous suture and knot and techniques to give them a real glimpse into medical careers and the skills required in professions like surgical technicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors.

LISD board meeting set for Dec. 17

The Levelland ISD board of trustees will be holding their regular board meeting on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.The first business of order is expected to be a public hearing on the FIRST Rating which is the state’s school financial accountability rating system.
