Lobos rebound against Big Spring following Estacado loss

The Levelland Lobos would improve to 2-2 in district play following a win against the Big Spring Steers at home, Wednesday evening.The Lobos would respond following a difficult 9-4 loss against the Estacado Matadors on Monday.The Lobos would put together a 6-3 win against the Steers.

Levelland Powerlifting was well represented this past Friday in the 2025 THSWPA (Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association) 4A Division 2 Championship Final in Edinburg. Naylea Saucedo competed in the 242-plus weight class, earning fourth place. Saucedo would total 970 lbs.
2025 NJCAA INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONS - The South Plains College (SPC) Texans and Lady Texans Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the NJCAA 2025 National Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center, March 7-8. The Texans would secure the top spot and national title by posting a total of 119.5 points. the Lady Texans would also put up a strong fight, finishing ninth with 23 points at the two-day meet. South Plains College - The South Plains College Texans showcased their dominance at the NJCAA 2025 National Indoor Track and Field Championships, capturing the national title with an outstanding 119.5 points.

Lobos open district 1-0, shutout Lakeview

The Levelland Lobos opened district play against the San Angelo Lakeview Chiefs at home on Tuesday, shutting out the chiefs 6-0.Rance Massey would command the mound for the Lobos, holding Lakeview scoreless through a complete seven innings.

Regional girls powerlifting results ahead of state

A handful of girls from area powerlifting teams competed in the state powerlifting meet March 12-15. Results from the state meet will be provided in the upcoming Wednesday issue.

Regional qualifiers of area boys’ powerlifting teams competed last week with the hopes of finishing top two in their respective weight classes for a chance at the state powerlifting meet.

Sundown baseball splits district series against Tahoka

Sundown Roughneck baseball would open district play this past week with a home-andhome series against the Tahoka Bulldogs, splitting the series.The Roughnecks would travel to Bulldog territory last Saturday where they would take the win, 10-7.

Eagle baseball starts Littlefield Tournament 1-1

The Ropes Eagles played their first two games of their tournament on Thursday winning against Olton 15-1 and losing a close game to New Deal 12-11 going 1-1 in the first half of the tournament.

Ropes Eagles end season at Abilene Christian University

The Ropes Eagles made school history with their great performance this basketball season making it to the State Semi-Finals of playoffs where they fell to the Meyer Ravens 5851, in a close game.The start of the game got scary for the Eagles as they fell early 7-0 at the start of the first quarter.
