Ropes earns big win over New Home, 8-7

The Ropes Eagles hosted the New Home Leopards for a district baseball matchup this past Wednesday night, resulting in the Eagles edging them out 8-7 to earn the big win.Ropes took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, then New Home scored five unanswered runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.

Lobos fall to Trinity Christian, 6-2

The Levelland Lobos traveled on the road for a nondistrict baseball matchup against Trinity Christian Lions this past Tuesday night, resulting in the Lobos falling to them 6-2.Trinity Christian scored two runs in the first inning, two runs in the third inning and a run in the fourth inning.

Maidens fall just short of playoffs

The Morton Maidens softball team played back-to-back district softball games on Monday night against Tahoka and on Tuesday night against New Home, falling in both matchups.On Senior Night at home against Tahoka, the two teams exited the first inning tied 1-1.

Sundown boys golf qualifies for State Tournament

The Sundown Roughnecks and Ropes Eagles golf teams competed at the 2A Region 1 Golf Tournament this past Monday and Tuesday at the Palo Duro Golf Course, resulting in both teams finishing top 10 and the Roughnecks qualifying for the State Tournament as a team.

SPC rodeo competes well at Howard College

The South Plains College rodeo program competed at the Howard College Rodeo this past Thursday through Saturday in Big Spring, resulting in four athletes making the short round.In the tie down roping, Jaxon Stoker placed sixth in the short round after posting a 23.9.
