Letter to the Editor

As spring brings warmer weather and longer days, it is the perfect time for a communitywide refresh!

We are calling on all residents to take part in Levelland’s annual spring-cleaning effort to keep our town beautiful, safe, and welcoming.

A key area needing attention is our alleys. Every property owner is responsible for maintaining the area adjacent to their property, extending to the centerline of the alley. This helps ensure clear access for utility crews and sanitation services and keeps our neighborhoods looking their best.

Here are a few friendly reminders: - Trim vegetation to under six inches and remove dead vegetation to reduce fire risk and pests.

- Close dumpster lids and tie trash bags—West Texas winds are no joke!

- Dispose of large debris property items that do not fit in your dumpster should be taken to the landfill (free with a water bill) or call City Hall for pickup (may take up to three weeks).

Please note: Construction waste, concrete, appliances, large limbs, vehicles, and anything over fifty pounds are not picked up by the city and must be hauled off by the owner or contractor.

We love seeing our residents take pride in their homes, businesses, and shared spaces. Whether it is planting flowers, clearing brush, or tidying up your alley, every little bit helps make Levelland shine.

Let’s work together this season to keep our community clean and beautiful—for ourselves and for everyone who visits. Thank you for your continued commitment to making Levelland a wonderful place to live!
