The Levelland Loboettes traveled on the road for a district softball matchup against the San Angelo Lakeview Maidens this past Thursday, resulting in the Loboettes winning 19-6 across six innings.
Levelland came out strong, holding a 7-2 lead after two innings, then Lakeview would win the third through fifth innings 3-2, before Levelland would put the game to bed by winning the sixth inning 10-1.
The Loboettes bested the Maidens 22-11 in hits and 4-3 in walks drawn, and neither team committed an error in the matchup.
Levelland’s stellar offensive showing was powered by Adrianna Castellano going 2/5 with five runs-battedin and two runs scored, Mia Sepulbeda going ¾ with four runs scored, three RBI’s, three stolen bases, two doubles and a walk, and Jill Lopez going 4/5 with three RBI’s and three runs scored. Other Loboette standouts at the plate included Tiffany File going 2/4 with two RBI’s and a run scored, Angelina Gonzales going ½ with two RBI’s, a run scored and a stolen base, Carleigh Delgado going 2/5 with an RBI and a run scored, and Delaney Delgado going 2/5 with two runs scored, an RBI, a double and a stolen base, and Madilyn Barrientes going 2/4 with a run scored and a walk.
On the mound, Jocelynn Arriaga pitched all six innings, holding Lakeview to five earned runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out three batters, The win improves the Loboettes to 19-7 overall and 5-2 in district play, which puts them third in the 4A District 5 softball standings.
They return to play early in the week at home against Lubbock Cooper Liberty before traveling to face Snyder on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
