Ropes Lady Eagles crush O’Donnell, 12-1

The Ropes Lady Eagles softball team hosted the O’Donnell Lady Eagles this past Monday night, resulting in a dominant 12-1 Ropes victory across five innings.

Ropes’ offensive attack was on point, collecting 15 hits and nine walks, opposed to O’Donnell’s one hit and four walks.

O’Donnell’s minimal offensive production was a result of a killer outing on the mound from Braedyn Reyna, who pitched all five innings, holding O’Donnell to one earned run and one hit, while striking out eight batters.

Meanwhile, Ropes’ offensive production was powered by several great performances at the plate including first baseman Camden Dodd going 2/4 with four runs-batted-in, three runs scored, two stolen bases and a triple, catcher Ezmeralda Saenz going ¾ with three doubles and two RBI’s, shortstop Allye Bandy going 2/3 with a triple, two runs scored, two stolen bases, an RBI and a walk, Reyna going 2/3 with a triple, three runs scored, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk, and center fielder Karli Rhoads going ½ with two RBI’s and a walk.

“Our girls did a good job staying focused and taking care of business,” Ropes Head Softball Coach Joey Ybarra said. “We had some players step up and contribute, which is always great to see.”

Following the win, Ropes improves to 10-8 overall. They’ll return to action on Tuesday on the road against the Sudan Nettes, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
