The Smyer Bobcats suffered a defeat to the Tahoka Bulldogs, 48-12, extending their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 1-9.
Smyer completed 19 of 27 passes for 251 yards; had 130 rushing yards, 218 receiving yards, with one fumble, 41 solo tackles and 25 assists.
Top Smyer passer was Skyler Pond with 17 completions in 24 attempts for 192 yards and one touchdown. Xyler Rumsey completed 1 -of-1 passes for 26 yards; and Caleb Pearce, 1-of-l passes for 33 yards.
Top rushers for the Bobcats were Skyler Pond with seven carries for 52 yards; Max Benevedes with six carries for 45 yards and one touchdown; Xyler Rumsey with nine carries for 28 yards; and Ryann Gutierrez with two carries for 7 yards.
Smyer receivers included Ryan Gutierrez with 13 receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown; Haden Cooper, three receptions for 50 yards; Max Benevedes, two receptions for 36 yards; Skyler Pond, one reception for 26 yards; Tango Pastusek, one reception for 15 yards; and S. Rodriguez, one reception for 8 yards.
The loss marks the conclusion of the Bobcats season as they fell short of the playoffs.
