Bill’s Backpacks sets January food donations

Bill’s Backpack of Levelland continues to take food and monetary donations to restock after Christmas break and going forward 2024. For the month of January will be individual servings of cereal.

Sundown hosts pet vaccination clinic

The City Of Sundown will be hosting a pet Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, January 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sundown Fire Station, 702 S. Slaughter Ave. Dr. Tracy Jenkins with College Ave. Animal Clinic will be conducting the clinic. Sundown Municipal Code Section 2.

Sundown Library ribbon cutting set January 18

The Sundown Library has announced they are ready to cut the ribbon on their new library facility coming up on January 18th. The new facility includes a children’s creative imagination play space, an eSports gaming lounge, state of the art furniture, and plenty of work areas.

Levelland Animal Shelter opens doors, continues renovations

Following the posting of an immediate closure on November 15, the Levelland Animal Shelter is back up and running at half capacity in order to make much needed adjustments to their kennels. The notice of closure was made in regard to a distemper case requiring the shelter to be closed.

Ballot By Mail applications

The Hockley County Election Office is off and running for the planning of the 2024 Election Season. Election personnel reminds voters over 65 and voters with a disability who would like to vote by mail in 2024 will need to request and a complete a new Ballot By Mail application.
