With Thanksgiving Day right around the comer, I can’t help but reminisce about all the great Thanksgivings of my childhood.And I always think of football when I think of the holiday, but far more importantly, I’m reminded of my family and loved ones around me.

This past Tuesday saw two bands from Hockley County marched their way to silver and bronze medals at the Alamodome in San Antonio at the 2A State Marching Band Championships.

Texas Rep. Ken King will be stopping off in Levelland as a part of his tour of District 88.The meeting will be at the Levelland Fire Department on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

City Council holds public hearing, regular meeting

The Levelland City Council met for their regular meeting and public hearing on Oct. 3.The purpose of the public hearing was to allow citizens an opportunity to provide input on the proposed Levelland Community Development Corporation (LCDC) project which totals $636,000.

Voters stamp approval on 17 amendments

Texas voters have approved 17 new amendments to the state constitution which could reshape taxes, education, public safety and infrastructure in the state.The Ropes ISD bond election also passed with 56.96 percent voting for the proposition.
