ByRoyO’Donnovan Anyone that’s talked to me knows my hearing is about as useless as a referee in a prowrestling match. This difficulty began with a little explosion long ago and all these additional years since have taken a toll on my ability to understand much of what people are saying.

1/31/2024 - 100 block of 10th Street - 5:54 P.M. An officer was dispatched to the area in reference to an accident. As a result, an arrest and report was made. 1/30/2024-LEVELLANDMIDDLESCHOOL A school resource officer took two separate reports for furnishing alcohol to a minor and forgery.

Jaime McCabe announces city council bid

Jaime McCabe, born and raised right here in Levelland, has announced her candidacy for a spot on the Levelland City Council, District C. McCabe has lived in Levelland for most of her life.

PUCT finishes two Texas electric grid projects

The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) closed two projects opened in 2021 to implement reliability improvements for the Texas electric grid.

1/30/2024 - DISPATCHED 7:35 P.M. - CLEARED 7:56 P.M. LEVELLAND Dispatched informed the LFD of smoke coming from a residence located in the 800 block of Avenue F. Upon arrival, fire personnel were informed by the occupant she had fallen asleep while cooking.

The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will be holding a regular meeting Monday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Hockley County Courthouse.
