Maidens beat Lady Warriors, 30-16, eclipse last year’s win total

The Morton Maidens basketball team hosted the Talkington Lady Warriors this past Tuesday night, beating them 30-16.The win improves them to 3-4 overall, and with that third win, they’ve already eclipsed their win total from last season.“For our girls, it’s been tough.

Whitharral upset by Sands in Bi-District, 82-48

The Whitharral Panthers football team faced off against the Sands Mustangs in the Bi-District round of the 1A-2 sixman playoffs at Lubbock Christian High School this past Friday, losing 82-48.

Roughnecks fall in Bi-District, McDaniel’s touchdown steals night

The Sundown Roughnecks football team squared off against the Wink Wildcats in the Bi-District round of the 2A-2 playoffs at Andrews High School this past Thursday, losing 46-12.

Levelland falls to Seminole in Bi-District, 77-38

The Levelland Lobos football team faced off against the Seminole Indians in the Bi-District round of the 4A-2 playoffs at Frenship High School this past Thursday, falling 77-38.

Lady Cats beat Bovina, 51-41, improve to 2-0

The Smyer Lady Cats basketball team played host to the Bovina Fillies this past Tuesday, beating them 51-41.Leading the Lady Cats to the win was sophomore Ellie Nelson, who was their leading scorer with 24 points on the night.

Cheruiyot earns two All-American honors at XC Nationals

This past week seven South Plains country cross country athletes competed at the 2025 NJCAA National Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and they earned two All-American honors.Both honors came from sophomore Dennis Cheruiyot, who placed 11th in the men’s 8K race with a time of 25:30.

Roughettes beat Sudan, 41-36, move to 2-0

This past Tuesday the Sundown Roughettes basketball team went on the road to take on the Sudan Nettes, winning 41-36.The win moves the Roughettes to 2-0 this season with both of their wins coming on the road.“Two games into the season, I’m very pleased with our balance.

Lady Eagles fall at home to Olton, 70-49

The Ropes Lady Eagles basketball team hosted the Olton Fillies this past Tuesday, falling to them 70-49, and dropping to 1-1 this season.The Lady Eagles fought hard in the game, but Olton was able to enforce their full-court press gameplan well, which gave Ropes trouble all night.
