To me it's important to give to the church so that the elders and the pastoral care worker could provide Vacation Bible school in the summer for children.
The funding also goes to books that are donated to the church so that the people can borrow books to read that have a lot to do with Christianity.
For example I am reading a book that was written by a Christian called Karen Kingsbury. I read quite a few of her books.
The for the church also goes to fund elementary and Christian high schools. My children attended an elementary Christian school, and they attended a catholic high school.
As a young girl I attended GEMS which was called 'Girls Everywhere meeting the savior. I attended that group for 4 years. I really enjoyed it.
So as a member of the Christian Reformed Church, I am going to continue to give to the church because it not only goes to God, but some of the elders has helped us when my husband and I were in financial need.
