The award recognizes nonfaculty employees who have demonstrated exemplary service to the college that is studentfocused and makes a difference in the achievement of institutional objectives.

5/10/2024 - HOCKLEY COUNTY Deputies took a report in reference to a Historical marker being vandalized in the Northern part of the county. A report for Criminal Mischief between $50 and $500 was made.

Sundown Library receives grant

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health is excited to announce the 2024 recipients of the Reliable Flexible Funding for Mental health and Well-being (RFF) grants. The foundation will invest $5 million over 5 years in reliable, flexible funding to multiple historically under-resourced community-based mental health organizations.

TxDOT focus on motocyclist safety during May

Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to crashes and can be harder to spot for other drivers. Because of this, motorcyclists have a higher risk of being injured or killed in crashes compared to people in cars.

Hockley County Sheriff’s Report

The fire department received a report of a fire in the backyard of a residence located in the 1200 block of Avenue L. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered two structures fully involved. Xcel Energy was contacted to shutoff power to the residence. Units were able to protect the neighboring structures along with the residence on the premises from involvement. All units stood by as hot spots were extinguished and monitored.

Several Scriptures that deal with burdens are: Psalms 55:22: 'Give your burdens to the Lord. He will not permit the Godly to slip nor fall.' Matthew 11:28-30: 'Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy burdened and I will give you rest.
