City accepting applications to serve on boards

The City of Levelland is inviting residents who are interested in making a difference in their community to consider serving on one of the City’s boards or commissions.

Each year, the Levelland City Council appoints community members to serve on various boards and commissions that help support the City’s work and provide valuable community perspective.

Several opportunities are available for the upcoming term, including the Planning and Zoning Commission, Housing Standards Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Levelland Community and Economic Development Corporation, Cemetery Advisory Board, Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone and Airport Advisory Board.

“We are looking for energetic people who want to get involved and help make a difference in Levelland,” said Andréa Corley, city secretary.

“Community participation is an important part of a thriving city, and serving on a board or commission is a great way for residents to learn more about local government, share their perspective, and become more engaged in the community.”

Residents with an interest in serving are encouraged to complete a volunteer interest form.

Regardless of back-ground or experience, those interested in learning more about how local government works and contributing time and perspective, the City encourages people to apply.

Volunteer information and applications are available by visiting city hall or online at www. levellandtexas.org/volunteeropportunities.

Applications are due Oct. 14 and should be submitted to the City Cecretary’s Office, City of Levelland, 1709 Ave. H, Levelland, TX 79336.

Applications may also be emailed to citysec@levellandtexas.org.

Board appointments will be made by the Levelland City Council in December.
