The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will hold its regular meeting on Aug. 24.

A public hearing is scheduled for the tax increase after which commissioners are expected to take action to ratify the property tax increase reflected in the 2027 budget as well as setting the tax rate for 2026.
Commissioners are expected to take action to approve county holidays for 2027.
Additionally, commissioners are expected to take necessary action to approve the 2027 Safety Incentive Program for fulltime employees of Hockley County, and take action to approve the rider for Elsa Cavazos, captain jail administrator.
