The Hockley Commissioners Court will hold a regular meeting at 9 a.m. Monday May 4, 2026 at the Hockley County Courthouse in Levelland.
Commissioners are set to review and approve minutes from the April 20 meeting and consider all monthly bills and claims submitted though May 4. The court will also take up an agreement related to the SB8 Grant, the sheriff immigration law enforcement grant program The Sheriff Immigration Law Enforcement Grant Program, tied to Texas Senate Bill 8, provides state funding to help local sheriff's offices cover costs related to immigration enforcement.
The grant can include housing detainees, overtime pay, training and transportation. The program is meant to ease the financial burden on counties, if approved, would allow the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office to receive or continue receiving this funding.
Additional items on the agenda include consideration of a continuation certificate for the treasurer’s office, approval of a tax deed for lots in the Ed M. Hart Addition in Anton to be purchased by Rocky Perez and requested for a road crossing by Halvey Energy LLC on Florida Road in Precinct 4.
The meeting is open to the public at the Levelland Courthouse on May 4 at 9 a.m.
