Letter to the Editor:

If there was ever a moment for our community to lean in, show up, and get involved, it’s now. We all talk about wanting a more connected, vibrant, welcoming town, but that only happens when each of us takes an active role in making it so.

Community engagement isn’t just attending the big annual events. It’s choosing to participate in the everyday moments that bring us together: showing up to local gatherings, supporting organizations, and being present with the people who live around us. These small choices build the kind of community where people feel seen, supported, and valued.

But this doesn’t happen on autopilot. It takes intention. It takes people deciding, “Yes, I’ll be part of this.” So, I’m inviting everyone, long-time residents and newcomers alike, to step forward. Go to that meeting. Volunteer an hour. Join an organization. Say hello to someone you don’t know. Be part of the energy that keeps our town moving forward.

We all have a role in shaping the place we call home. Let’s choose to be engaged, invested, and involved. Our community becomes stronger the moment we decide to show up for one another.

Respectfully, Angie Yandell United Supermarkets Assistant Service Manager Levelland Chamber of Commerce & Keep Levelland Beautiful Volunteer
