The Levelland City Council will be holding a regular meeting Monday, August 19, beginning at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Agenda items set for the meeting include: Consider and take necessary action to approve the minutes of the August 5 regular meeting and the August 8 special meeting; Consider and take necessary action to propose a tax rate for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and establish the date for a public hearing; Consider and take necessary action to approve Ordinance 1080 regarding updates to regulations pertaining to park operations on a second reading; Hold public hearing on the building and construction permit and inspection fees; Consider and take necessary action to approve Ordinance 1081 regarding building inspection fees on a first reading; Consider and take necessary action on Resolution 2024-24 approving an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the closing of two blocks of state highway for the “Falling for the Wallace” Festival event; Consider and take necessary action on the event application for the Levelland Main Street Sip & Swirl event; Consider and take necessary action on Resolution 2024-25 approving an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the closing of two blocks of state highway for the Levelland Main Street Sip & Swirl; Consider and take necessary action to authorize the city manager to enter into an agreement to purchase a brush truck for the Levelland Fire Department; Update on the weather incident of May 29; Discussion on the Fiscal Year 25 budget; City Manager Report: Staff Updates, Project Updates, Staff/ Citizen recognition, Items of Community Interest. No action will be taken; Convene into executive session in accordance with Texas Government Code §551.074 to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee: (City Manager); Consider and take necessary action on items related to the executive session; and Adjourn.
