Local owner of Scrubby’s Cleaning Company and founder of the Calling Card Collective, Shelby Guajardo is currently competing in the Entrepreneur of Impact.
Colossal Management announced the launch of ‘Entrepreneur of Impact,’ a competition that is in partnership with Shark Tank star and entrepreneur Daymond John.
The competition will provide a platform for emerging and established business minds to gain recognition, resources, and life-changing mentorship.
The champion will not only secure a $25,000 cash prize but will also appear in a Forbes magazine advertorial.

On January 30, the first set of cuts to the list within the group vying for the prize will be made.
To enter into the competition, Guajardo had to write an essay detailing her story about her business venture and what her goals are regarding her company for the future.
Additionally, she has been working to through her business ventures to help empower women who have goals of creating their own business.
“This is just a huge opportunity,” said Guajardo. “I hope to take my earnings to grow my group and eventually be able to give back to women who were in the same position that I was in.”
Prior to her beginning her cleaning business, Guajardo was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years before finding full-time work at Levelland ISD’s ABC.
“I started cleaning on the sides and it just kind of took off from there,” said Guajardo. “It provided more than what I thought it could. I want to let other women know that this is a possibility and that you don’t have to do it alone. You can provide good foundation for your family.”
When COVID-19 arrived, Guajardo’s husband Elijah felt the effects of the pandemic as jobs in the oilfield became scarce.
It was at that time that he noticed how much success she had found in the cleaning service and offered to lend a helping hand.
From there, the duo put their resources to co-owning and building up Scrubby’s as a residential and commercial cleaning company.
While she focuses on the services provided in doors, her husband puts his attention to the outdoor services they provide.
“Even with something as small as services, cleaning is an essential day of life and at times moms are juggling three kids, school activities and husbands,” explained Guajardo. “It is hard to keep up with your whole life and I hope to provide women with the ability to have a clear mind so they can have more time for what is important to them.”
Now, Guajardo has brought on two employees to help the business as her schedule can be hectic at times and shared that the growth has allowed her to schedule things around her children.
“It’s nice to be able to make my schedule revolve around my children. I haven’t missed a single event that they’ve had and I’ve been able to contribute to my daughter’s softball team you know in ways that I didn’t think that I would have before I’m able to sponsor different things,” explained Guajardo. “With this group of powerful women that I am putting together, I’m hoping that I can show that we can do the same.”
On top of putting her effort into her business and family, Guajardo has founded the Calling Card Collective which is a networking group that includes clients she has come across.
“I learned that they can all benefit from each other,” said Guajardo. “I started this group of ladies, and we eventually want to have a summit in May for businesswomen.”
The goal of the gathering is to help businesswomen collaborate, communicate and help one another.
“It has been a journey as I have come across women of all walks of life,” said Guajardo. “Some women have started small business ventures, and I am working on collaborating with them. I have all of these different types of women who are struggling right now on how to get started. I just hope to bring them all together, so that we even if they are in the same field there is enough work for everybody.”
Despite the outcome of the competition, Guajardo has longterm goals for her business.
“With my cleaning company, I truly hope to grow it to the point where I can hire special needs kids,” said Guajardo. “My line of work is a life skill and there are not many job opportunities for kids of that nature. I would like to be able to give back to them, teach them ways to manage their money and give them some independence.”
