Sundown City Council meeting set for Feb. 10

The regular meeting of the Sundown City Council is scheduled for Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall.

The council is expected to hear a statement from the mayor regarding appropriate conduct at city council meetings.

Action items expected to be considered include Ordinance #615 authorizing the issuance and sale of $470,00 City of Sundown limited tax note, taxable series 2026 for water system improvement, vehicles and equipment for the public works department and volunteer fire department; levying an annual ad valorem tax and providing for the security and payment of the note; and enacting other provisions related to the subject.

Additionally, the council is expected to consider SPAGResolution# 189 authorizing the filing of a grant application with the South Plains Association of Governments for a regional waste grants program grant.

Agenda items also include a presentation and expected approval of the annual audit.

The council is expected to hear reports and updates from public works, library, police department and fire department, as well an administrator’s report on the waterline project and council/ mayor packets.
