City approves animal shelter proposal

The Levelland City Council approved a proposal for facility planning and design for a new animal shelter by Freese and Nichols last week.

Mar. 210:26 a.m. - Fire Department B-14 and T-9 dispatched to the 100 block of Quail Road for possible grass fire. Upon arrival, crew noticed burned grass on north side of highway with no flames. B014 put water on burned grass. Bystander told T-9 crew there was a possible fire to eat.

Wind fuels wildfires in Panhandle

As of Wednesday, there were multiple wildfires burning in the Texas Panhandle as winds gusted 50-60 mph.The National Weather Service in Amarillo issued a high wind warning for most of the region Wednesday, with possible wind gusts up to 65 mph and sustained strong winds at 30 to 40 mph.
