Gary P. Nunn honored with 2025 SPC Distinguished Alumni Award

Country music artist Gary P. Nunn was recognized as a South Plains College Distinguished Alumnus during the institution’s 2025 Scholarship Banquet on Thursday at the Mallet Event Center in Levelland.

Wallace to present Grand Ol' Christmas Show

The Wallace Theater is scheduled to present the Will Hearn's Grand Ol' Christmas Show, a live, retro-radiobroadcast musical variety spectacular, Friday, Nov. 21 for an evening of Christmas classics, comedy, and multigenerational holiday charm to West Texas.

SNAP benefits restored in Texas

Texans had their November SNAP benefits restored on Friday after two weeks of uncertainty about food assistance.The USDA on Thursday ordered states to take immediate steps to ensure households receive their full November allotments promptly and no reductions were in effect.

FAA lifts order slashing flights

With holiday traffic looming, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it lifted all restrictions on commercial flights that were previously imposed at 40 major airports during the government shutdown. Airlines can resume their regular flight schedules beginning Monday.

LISD school board to hold regular meeting

The Levelland ISD school board will be holding both a special and regular meeting on Nov. 19.The special meeting is the Superintendent Evaluation Workshop that begins at 5 p.m.; the regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
