The First Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Levelland will be celebrating 100 years on Oct. 19.
The celebration will feature worship with prayer and song, and a sermon by Rev. Jon Sharp, followed by a fellowship meal and opportunity to reminisce, see photos, visit and laugh.
Church service times are 9:30 a.m., Sunday School; 10:40 a.m., Worship Service; and Noon, Food and Fellowship.
The church, established in 1925, has seen many changes through the years. Under the leadership of Vic Shea and a renovating committee, the church building and grounds were renovated in 1982-1985, which included carpet, paint, upholstery for the pews, structural changes to the pulpit, new restrooms, parlor carpet and furniture.
A stained-glass memorial and dedication took place in 1985. All aisle windows are identical except for a circular etching near the top. Each circle contains a different ancient Christian symbol. Additional symbols are used in the Narthex transom. The stained-glass windows were made and installed by Dale and Lynn Schenck of Reflected Impressions in Lubbock.
The beauty and reverence of the sanctuary remain as a hallmark of faith and dedication to serving the Lord.
