City Council to hold two special meetings

The City of Levelland city council on Mar. 9 will be holding a special joint meeting with the Levelland Economic Development Corporation and Levelland Community Development Corporation on March 9 and are expected to hear a presentation of the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 audit by David Copeland with Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, L.L.P. The meeting will be held at city hall and will begin at 5 p.m.

Following the presentation, the board is expected to take necessary action on the report.

A second special meeting of the city council will begin at 6 p.m. to address ordinances, proposals and other business.

Ordinances expected to be considered include Ordinance 1113 for a zone change for 838 CR 140 from a single family 2 district to a multi-family 2 District on a first reading; and Ordinance 1114 approving a tariff authorizing an annual rate review mechanism as a substitution for the annual interim rate adjustment process as negotiated between Atmos Energy and the steering committee of cities service on first reading.

Also expected to be considered is the proposal for facility planning and design by Freese and Nichols for the City of Levelland Animal Shelter.

See “Special Meetings” continued on page 2 Other items on the agenda for consideration include the proposal to develop a supervisory control and data acquisition master plan (SCADA) for the city of Levelland.

The board is also expected to take necessary action on an Economic Development Performance Agreement with Stealth Energy Real Estate LLC. Including the conveyance of Lots 10-B, 10-C and 10-D of the Levelland Industrial Rail Park.

City manager James Fisher is expected to give a report on staff updates, staff and citizen recognitions, and items of community interest.
