Loboettes dominate Lady Panthers, 19-7

The Levelland Loboettes traveled on the road for a district softball matchup against the Frenship Memorial Lady Panthers this past Tuesday night, resulting in a dominant 19-7 Loboettes run rule win across six innings.

Levelland outscored Memorial 5-4 in the first inning; Memorial added a run in the second inning; Levelland then added six runs in the third inning, outscored them 5-2 in the fourth inning and added three more runs in the sixth inning to put the game to rest.

In the team statistics, the Loboettes bested the Lady Panthers 18-9 in hits, 3-0 in walks and 1-3 in errors committed.

“The Loboettes came out tonight and did a great job of putting the bat on the ball,” Levelland Head Softball Coach Adrian Holland said. “The girls did a fantastic job of staying in the moment and understanding what needed to be done. Madilyn Barrientes went 3/4 with two home runs and six runs-batted-in to lead the Loboettes to the win. We had the game under control from the beginning.”

Along with Barrientes, several other Loboettes had phenomenal performances at the plate including first baseman Adrianna Castellano going ¾ with three RBI’s, three runs scored, a home run and a double, second baseman Delaney Delgado going ¾ with three RBI’s, two runs scored, two doubles and a walk, and left fielder Mia Sepulbeda going 2/4 with two RBI’s, two runs scored, a double and walk.

Other standouts included third baseman Angelina Gonzales going ¼ with three runs scored and two RBI’s, catcher Madi Seat going ¾ with an RBI and a double, center fielder Tiffany File going 2/3 with an RBI and a run scored, and right fielder Carleigh Delgado going 1/3 with two runs scored, an RBI, a double and a walk.

Jocelynn Arriaga handled all the duties on the mound for Levelland, pitching the complete game, holding Memorial to seven earned runs on nine hits and zero walks while striking out a batter.

The win improves the Loboettes to 21-8 overall and 6-3 in district play, which puts them third in the 4A District 5 softball standings.

They’ll enjoy a weekend off from competition before returning on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on the road against Big Spring.
