LISD holds special board meeting

The Levelland ISD held a special meeting to consider hires and the purchase of security cameras and equipment on Thursday.

The board approved three new professional probationary contracts for three teachers including Emilly Bonnett for Capitol Elementary for Life Skills; Melissa Brown, Levelland High School for English; and Janice Krieg, South Elementary as dyslexia teacher. All contracts are effective Aug. 6 prior to the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

The school district has been considering replacing and upgrading the current security cameras across the district to ensure the safety and security of LISD students. A quote was received from 5G Security for $94.041.60.

The quote includes Megapix V-Class turrets, mic level ceiling mount microphones and all installation equipment as well as installation costs for all campuses. The board approved the new system and equipment.
