The Levelland ISD board of trustees will hold their regular meeting on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m.
Trustees are expected to adopt the 2026-2027 LISD parent and family engagement policy that will be presented by the director of elementary curriculum, Joanna Runkles.
The board is expected to consider approving the extracurricular status for the Hockley County 4-H and adjunct faculty agreement to be presented by LISD superintendent Donald Heseman.
Trustees are expected to consider approval of the 2026 calendar year non-business days to be Heseman and assistant superintendent, Rodney Caddell, as well a staff development waiver.
The board is expected to consider a district improvement plan based on surveys, scores, and the accountability report that will be presented by Heseman.
Other items to be considered are the capital expenditure for a softball and tennis facility, appointing an IPM coordinator to implement the school districts IPM program, and a safe and supportive program team.
Trustees are expected discuss a resolution of provision of armed security officers on each LISD campus for annual renewal, which will be presented by Caddell and Laurie Jones.
The board is expected to consider the final budget amendments for the 2025-2026 year, and the financial report that will be presented by chief financial officer, Teresa Montemayor.
Trustees are to hear reports on fundraising, the student health advisory council meeting, the special education department, academic, accountability, LIFE foundation, superintendent, summer school, and the board report.
A discussion on the three-year safety audit survey results is on the agenda.
