Edith Fortner-Patterson

Edith Ann Fortner-Patterson, 98, of Levelland, passed away on December 4, 2022.

Edith was born October 26, 1924, in McGehee, Arkansas, to Eva Mae and Thurman Todd.

She married Leslie Fortner in Drew, Arkansas, on July 22, 1945. They were married 34 years and had seven children, before he preceded her in death in 1979.

She married Duane Patterson November 16, 1984, they were married for 22 years before he preceded her in death in 2007.

Edith enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, crafting and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Fortner; husband, Duane Patterson; a son, Terry Fortner; a daughter-inlaw, Jodie Fortner; and a grandson Jerod Fortner.

She is survived by her children Lonnie (Carol) Fortner of Paris, Texas; Jimmy (Jean) Fortner of Levelland, Olivia Faye (Ron) McWilliams of Amarillo, Glenn (Mara) Fortner of Midland, Jerry Fortner of Pep and Kelvin (LeBeth) Fortner of Buna; 24 grandchildren, 37 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all that loved and cared for her.

She was a wonderful friend. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, at Head Duarte Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8 at Head Duarte Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow in the Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, New Mexico, under the direction of Head Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland and Muffley’s Funeral Home of Clovis, New Mexico.
