James Obie Humphreys, 74, of Levelland passed from this life on Thursday, October 12,2023. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17,2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Second Baptist Church in Levelland. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
He was born May 22, 1949 in Levelland to Cyrus and Claira Staggs Humphreys. James lived his most of his life in Levelland where he met many friends who he loved to talk and visit with. He was a hard-working man of God who cherished his family. James loved his family, church and Jesus. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Levelland.
James is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tanisha Humphreys and siblings, Cyrus Humphreys Jr., Mary Cockrell, Delores Stephens and Billy Humphreys.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include wife, Rita Humphreys; son, Jimmy Humphreys; grandchildren, Courtney Humphreys, Hope Maddox, Camron Maddox, Randal Court and Dakota Court; great grandchildren, Konnor Humphreys, Rayden Drennan, Parker Maddox, Charlotte Maddox, Aidan Harlan, Chloe Harlan, Laila Guajardo, Delighla Guajardo, Patrick Guajardo, Serenity Guajardo and Aubree Hyson; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss him dearly.
