The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a gas smell near West Avenue. The units could smell the odor while enroute and searched for a source in the area. The units were unable to locate the smell and cleared the scene.
9/27/24 – DISPATCHED 2:55 A.M. – CLEARED 3:12 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department was called to a gas smell near West Jefferson Street. The units checked the residence. Readings on the multi-gas meter were normal, so the resident was notified, and the units cleared the scene.
9/26/24 – DISPATCHED 9:19 A.M. – CLEARED 9:45 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to assist Atmos on a gas leak near Avenue M. Site deemed safe after communication on scene and all fire personnel cleared the scene.
9/26/24 – DISPATCHED 8:07 A.M. – CLEARED 8:35 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a multi-vehicle wreck near West State Highway 114 and West Avenue. Patients were out of the vehicles upon arrival, and the units checked and deemed all vehicles safe. The units cleared the scene.
9/24/24 – DISPATCHED 12:41 P.M. – CLEARED 1:05 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department responded to a burning wire smell in a business near the 1900 block of West State Highway 114. The units found that a light fixture in the ceiling was the cause of the smell and advised that an electrician looks at it. The units returned to the station.
9/20/24 – DISPATCHED 7:05 P.M. – CLEARED 7:12 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department was requested by EMS for lift assistance near 9th Street. Upon arrival, the patient was already on a stretcher, and units assisted the patient into the ambulance. Once loaded, the units cleared the scene.
9/20/24 – DISPATCHED 2:15 P.M. – CLEARED 4:02 P.M. – WHITHARRAL
The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a grassfire near North US Highway 385 and West FM 597. Spot fires were along the bar ditch, and the units worked to extinguish the fires and soak potential hot spots. After a scene check, the units returned to the station.
9/18/24 - DISPATCHED 8:22 A.M. - CLEARED 8:51 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call from the HCSO to help with opening a rear hatch on a HCSO wrecked Tahoe near the
1800 block of W. Highway 114.
9/17/24 - DISPATCHED 6:45 P.M. - CLEARED 7 P.M. LEVELLAND A report was received of a bird stuck in a home in the 500 block of Avenue E. The bird was discovered stuck behind appliances. After the appliances were removed, the bird was freed.
9/17/24 - DISPATCHED 12:32 P.M. - CLEARED 1 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Pine Street following reports of a gas leak. It was discovered the gas was leaking from the meter where it had been struck. The fire department contacted Atmos Energy.
9/11/24 – DISPATCHED 4:54 A.M. – CLEARED 5:26 A.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The Levelland Fire Department responded to a wreck near South FM 303 and Justin Road. EMS was requested. Sundown Fire Department was on scene upon arrival, and LFD assisted in rescue operations.
9/9/24 – DISPATCHED 9:23 P.M. – CLEARED 9:36 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm call at South Plains College. Fire personnel found the smoke was from a dorm resident cooking, and there was no fire. Fire personnel silenced the alarm and cleared the scene.
9/5/24 – DISPATCHED 2:35 P.M. – CLEARED 3:10 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to down power lines near the 1000 block of College Avenue. Units found two poles and lines on the ground, and Xcel was already on the scene. The scene was deemed safe and Xcel resumed command. The LFD units cleared the scene.
9/4/24 – DISPATCHED 4:57 A.M. – CLEARED 5:23 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department responded to a resident’s call about an electrical panel sparking and smoking near the 1000 block of 10th Street. The fire personnel found steam coming off the roof of the residence, and determined it was shorted electrical wires. The fire personnel killed power to the wires and told the resident to contact Xcel. Xcel arrived on the scene and released fire personnel.
9/1/24 – DISPATCHED 11:32 A.M. – CLEARED 4 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY
The Levelland Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire near North FM 303 and West FM 597. The fire was located in Lamb County and fire units were already on the scene. Lamb County requested mutual aid and Levelland units assisted until they were no longer needed.
