Church services for Elisa Guillen, 79 , of Morton were held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 14, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton.
Rosary was said at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 13, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton.
Burial followed in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Elisa died Thursday, July 3, in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born March 17, 1946 in El Refugio, Durango, Mexico to Francisco Gomes Perez and Esther Castillo Ochoa. She married Arturo Guillen in Morton, on May 10, 1980.
Elisa was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Elisa was a great cook and made the best enchiladas. She enjoyed sewing as well. Elisa was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arturo; a daughter, Bertha Martinez; her parents; two sisters, Petra Gomez and Aurelia Gomez; and two brothers, Jose Gomez and Francisco Gomez.
Elisa is survived by her son, Roque Martinez of Durango, Mexico; six daughters, Irma Martinez of Kansas City, Kansas, Juanita Arambula of Kansas City, Kansas, Alma Martinez and Benjamin Trejo of Kansas City, Kansas, Veronica Flores and Jorge Barraza of Durango, Mexico, Erma Lopez of Morton, Texas and Belinda Guillen of Morton, Texas; a sister, Catalina Gomez of Durango, Mexico; a brother, Celso Gomez of Durango, Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
