Reyes Hinojosa Sr. went home to be with Our Lord Saturday, January 18, 2025. Visitation was held from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Head Duarte Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Head Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland. Interment will follow at the City of Sundown Cemetery in Sundown, Tx.
Reyes was born on September 9, 1939 in Rio Hondo, Tx to Romualdo and Nicholasa Zapata Hinojosa. He married Juanita Peralez on January 7, 1962 in Sundown and they were blessed with seven children. He moved to Sundown in 1962 and worked as a farm and rancher for several years. His hobbies include watching the Green Gay Packers, watching Westerns on Grit, camping in Brwon Wood and fishing at Lake McKinney. He planted a vegetable yearly. His favorite pastime was spent watching his family continue to grow.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Juanita Hinojosa, parents, daughters Christina Hinojosa, Sylvia Gonzales and son Edward Hinojosa and 11 siblings.
He is survived by daughters Sarah Hinojosa of Lubbock, Louis Hinojosa and Ruby Hinojosa both of Sundown, sons Henry (Mary) Hinjosa of Snyder, Ernest (Lorena) Hinjosa of San Marcus, Reyes Jr. (Michelle) Hinojosa of Sundown and Chris Hinojosa of Lubbock, brother Rene Hinojosa of Spade, 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 10 great- great grandchildren.
